tess carnigliaTeresa Rose Carniglia was born on September 23rd, 1990. Her father was the man who would eventually become the CEO of Wolfram & Hart, like many in the Carniglia family before him. Her mother, meanwhile, was never in the picture, and her father always smoothly dodged any questions about her. When your family is knee-deep in the forces of darkness and your single father is very young and very busy, you wind up being babysat by warlocks and demons. To say the least, her childhood was a bit different, but it was normal to her - she'd never known anything else. She was incredibly sheltered; she got her education mostly from private tutors, and she had few friends who were human, let alone her own age. She also had recurring dreams from a young age where she was always another girl, in another era, who for some reason had to kill a vampire. She neglected to mention these dreams to anyone. She was 13 when all the potential slayers were called, but it was almost two years after the fact when she was actually approached by a watcher. When the watcher told her she had a destiny to fight evil, she started laughing before she realized they were actually serious. She left Italy for England, without telling her father, to begin her training as a slayer.
